Who has a can on theirs? Looking for feedback on a new buy coming up.
I shoot my Blackout suppressed. Besides the .22lr, it's about as quiet as it gets in the AR platform. You need subsonic ammo to get the most out of it. What are you looking at getting?
Which can or rifle ?
I'm just starting my search for both. Looking to secure an upper first and then the can. I'll likely go with a pistol upper.
I think a 8"-9" upper and a pistol lower is the way to go if you want to SBR it in the future. I have the AAC 762sdn-6 and really like it. If I was buying one today, I'd probably go with the Silencerco Saker 762 but I've heard they are out of stock (and more expensive).
For the can itself. I'm more concerned with short length and then price. Why do you prefer the saker today ?
I have an SBR with AAC upper in 9inch with AAC 762sdn-6 and really like it, good shooting rifle.
This would be my ideal build. I'm getting more motivated to start. Is this ammo coming down in price yet ?
I've been told reloading is the way to go. I can stand to pay 50c a round if needed for now but later down the road I'd like to start reloading.
Do the 300blk reload in the same shell as the 223 ? 556?
Yes. After being cutdown and renecked.
I have an AR-15 in .300 Whisper that I built from scratch about 10 years ago. I use an AAC .30 cal. Cyclone on it. With subsonics all you heard is the buffer weight and spring. I use it on an AAC Micro 7 in .300 Blackout and a T/C Contender in .300 Whisper also. I load 167 gr. to 220 gr. bullets.
This is my exact setup. I love the combo and the Knights rail is comfy without bulk.
I would get the Saker today because I like Silencerco's company over AAC and their new products work with multiple company's muzzle devices like AACs 51t.
