I just picked up a bit for .40¢ a round which is my limit for berdan and up to .50¢ a round for boxer.

Everyone loves unsolicited advice. LOL
So here is mine. Before stock piling 308 ammo you need to test several different brands/weights etc. to see what your rifle likes. I was shocked when I did this and found that there was a huge difference in accuracy. Unless your plan is to pray and spray then this is very important.
