Mike Pappas and another member from the original silencerco group are involved with dead air. Im sure they will put out a quality product.

I'm looking at the Surefire SOCOM762-RC, for the reasons EK said and because as a friend stated: You'll own it for the rest of your life.

Saker 7.62 or the Dead Air stuff would be top on my list, after that i'd consider Allen Engineering or possibly a WC Whisper??, AAC SDN-6 or the Mk13??, plenty like Thunderbeast…...

I have literally zero experience with cans leading up to this week but I started doing a little research and ended up sending forms for a Silencerco Harvester and Spectre II. After watching some reviews of those and feeling the weight difference between them and 2 or 3 competitors, I felt like they were the best choice for the money. The Harvester is soooooo light. I plan to run the Harvester on a bolt .308 and the Spectre II will go on a couple different .22LR's. I hope I made the right choice for my first foray into cans.

The harvester was a good choice for a bolt gun and its light. The spectre 2 is a good can also , I liked it more than the sparrow so I went with it instead. Forget that you even bought them , for me it's better that way.. The wait can get to ya. Have fun !!!

It's funny, I thought it would be cool to have a .22 can just to dip my toe in the water a little so we went and paid for it and got the paperwork going. I came back to the office and started watching youtube vids of suppressed .308's. I watched them for about 15 minutes and got up and went back and bought the Harvester as well. I just couldn't take it.

That's good to hear. I liked the design on these because they seem to really diminish the first round pop of some of the one piece baffle designs like the Sparrow. For the Harvester, the weight really was the deciding factor for me. From what I can tell, the difference in suppression as compared to some of the heavier, and even more expensive, cans probably isn't even discernible.

I have a YHM QD .30 cal stainless steel can to use on my 5.56s, 300 BLK and my AK. I shot it last weekend on my 5.56 AR for the first time and loved it. I didn't use ear pro while shooting it at an indoor range. My only complaint is that its large and heavy but its solid and quiet.
