I have a 260 Remington and a 6.5x284. Both built on Remington blue printed receivers. I whacked an prairie goat with the 6.5x284 3 years ago at 804 yds. Used Berger 140gr Hunting VLDs it still blew the left shoulder out.
It is a NSX 5.5-22x50 R1 w/ an anti-cant/cosine indicator from Defensive Edge. Shawn Carlock built the rifle. The only thing I don't like is the Seekins dbm. I like Seekins rings and bases(I've dealt with Seekins back when it was just Glenn in his shop), but the dbm has too much slop for me. I had a Seekins dbm on my .308 and it didn't feed well. Switched to Surgeon dbm, problem solved. My Edge feeds fine, just not crazy about the dbm....Shawn normally uses a Wyatt extended box....it was my choice. That's a badass stick !! WTH is a prairie goat?? Wikipedia gave me info on goat prairies, but nothing about specific game.
Speed goat, Prairie goat, Antelope. All the same.I believe he is referring to an antelope
Unless it's on a trans amAnd thunder chickens are actually turkey.
As some know, I build rifles as a hobby. I'm into high precision hunting rifles. Either I blue print Remington 700 receivers or use Surgeon receivers. I use either Krieger or Rock Creek barrels. For hunting stocks. I prefer Greybull stocks. For precision rifles I prefer XLR industries.
This build is a 338 Edge (338/300 RUM) built on a Surgeon Receiver with a Rock Creek Barrel heavy varmint. 1-9.5 twist. the scope is a Votex 5x20x54 Razor HD. If you are LE/Military or Veteran. go check out Vortex website for a 40% off their MSRP. PM me for details
Using PT&G bottom metal and CDI mags. Had to mod the mag so I could use 300 RUM brassWhat dbm are you using....CDI? Have you looked into Bertram brass?
