Yep, it’s a short action. I’d rather have a chassis setup unless the Magpul comes out quick and is quality, still want it adjustable so my daughter can set it like she likes.
Yes for the price you can’t beat them. If I can’t get a 700 for the right price I’ll buy another and rebarrel it to 8.6. Then I’m for sure going with Sharps, most likely do a PCS.

I guess I'm missing something here, 458 Socom is not short action. Short action is 308 length calibers and 458 Socom is 5.56 length which is the size under short action.
Or my understanding is incorrect

There are many more calibers not on this list that could be, but to break it down, .458 Socom is a short action with a .308 bolt face .473.

5.56, 300 BO are short action with a .384 bolt face(.5.56/.223)

Headspaced and thru on a 510 and Sig mag to break the barrel in. Need 11/16 crush washer or “spacers” to time the X-Termintor brake so using the Ruger brake off the 450 to start the break in.
