I had a 45 Colt and I found that brass sizes were all over the place. Hornady brass was very thick and much shorter than other brands.. Remington cases may be thicker by many thousandths than Winchester. or the other way around depending on batch probably. With that said if you plan on reloading for that gun try and get all the same ammo. That difference in cases made for lack luster accuracy. It was a Ruger Bisley Blackhawk. The cylinder holes were all over the place also on diameter and there was a pinch at the beginning of the barrel. Slug your barrel to see if you have issues there if the accuracy is not up to snuff. The 45 Colt is a neat round easy to reload for and you can make some really slow plinking loads from it that are very fun to shoot but if accuracy sucks you will not want to shoot it much. I can't help you on where to get it though. Stuff was too expensive for me, I only bought 1 box of ammo it was the Hornady critical defense at over a buck a shot. That brass was so thick i could not stick a lead bullet into it and keep .452" diameter. It pinched the lead down quite a bit. If I cast it hard where it would not get pinched down i could not chamber it once in the swelled up Hornady cases.
