It is starting to come back.
About two years ago I found about a dozen auctions on Gunbroker for (500) 64gr Speer Gold Dot ammo in .223. It was discontinued (62gr now), but the auctions started at $.01.
Not going g to be able to keep up with how the auctions were going, I bid $200/500 round lot, so .40/pop. But I bid on 10 auctions, hoping to win one, maybe two.
Checked three days later and I'd won seven of those darn things
. It was an expensive day, but my ranch rifle and .223 pig gun have all they'll need for many years.
Hopefully it'll be back under $10/20 again. Not sure if the plinking stuff will ever get cheaper than that with inflation.
