I had purchased a S-15 from superior arms that has a threaded hole right above or below the hole for the pistol grip. You are supposed to put the safety on and tighten the Allen screw ...this does the same thing. Your idea works better for a nonprofessional like me.

I've been doing this for years and in addition to the set screw I use my Foredom tool to remove just a bit from the rear of the trigger where the safety engages it. It allows for a little less travel on the trigger plus I very carefully polish the sear surface. Taking care not to remove the hardened layer of high carbon steel on the engagement surfaces.
