I shot the 6.5 yesterday with a new load.
H4350 41.4 gr.
CCI 200.
R-P cases 1 time fired, cleaned and annealed.
140 A-Max 2.802" OAL

3 shots with no rest between shots then set the Savage Axis rifle down for 40 minutes
and shot 2 more at the same spot.
I noticed when I picked up the rifle after the rest period that the scope had rotated :(
I did not have the screws tight enough. Fail on my part.

Still shot a decent group and I will play with seating depth and see if I can tighten it up.
.770" center to center. 100 yards.
I also need to take that one to 200 yards and see if it holds together.
I have cut the barrel shorter on this rifle it measures 19" to the bolt face.

Thanks @kwaynem that annealing is not rocket science.
Propane torch and stick the neck in the flame and rotate the case.
Clean brass of course.

Watch the color of the brass start to creep down into the shoulder and once barely past the shoulder you are done.
I have taken a sharpie and made a line down the case neck and continue past the shoulder.
When heated to the right temp that sharpie will fade away.
I use Black Sharpie and Sharpie brand also.

I will show you any time you wish.

I'd really like to see your process as well. I haven't gotten into annealing yet, and have debated using a simple method like this or buying a machine to do it. I suppose it's just the knowledge of what to look for when doing it manually. Once I can see it and do it a few times, I'm sure it won't be an issue, but I just have to start at some point.

Anyone here is welcome to come over anytime i am home and i will show you how to cast bullets and
powder coat them if you do not know how to do that and want to learn.
I will show you my process of brass prep and you may even have pointers for me.

You can see my homemade cheap pin tumbler in action also.

No that is just so so in my book.
I hope to post an awesome grouping some time with this rifle.
Now if that was 300 yards I would say it was closer to Awesome.

Old stock I got from a member here.
I still have a bunch of A-max in 155 and 168 gr for the .308.
Usually got 500 minimum of the same lot number when I got them.
