I have a Les Baer AR15 in 6.5 Grendel (or .264 LBC for the purists). The gun is awesome but the quad rail that came on it is not. I decided to change it out finally with an Aero Precision Enhanced MLok rail. I finally got all the parts in but the barrel nut does not fit over the barrel.

- Did I just happen to pick the one rail/barrel nut combo that won’t fit?
- are there certain brands/models that don’t fit so snug around the barrel itself?

Barrel nut ID - 1.0035”
Barrel OD - 1.05”

Any recommendations for something that will work better?

Their enhanced version uses proprietary crap. I believe it goes with their e1 uppers. You want the threaded (non advanced) version.

You’re right that it does work with their enhanced upper, but they offer a standard barrel nut for standard uppers. I guess it’s safe to say that their standard is far from a standard.

I haven’t had to change rails before, so after this I want to ensure I don’t have to revisit it again. Took two dang weeks to get the wrong one to start with.

Not sure. My understanding is that they should fit any AR barrel with standard AR upper. I put mine on a medium weight RRA barrel.
the barrel nut itself has an ID of 1.0035, so snug on a 1.0000” barrel. My barrel is 1.05” OD. Just wondering if the majority of barrel nuts are going to have, basically, an ID of 1.00”

Spoke with both Les Baer Custom and Aero. Both seem equally confused and claim their product is standard.
