A while back, I posted a WTB for a 681. I dreamed this up years ago and thought I'd give it a try. I got the 681 from another member (You know who you are, thanks! BTW I still paid too much for it LOL).

Anyway- Pic 1- Base gun
Pic 2- Clamped down in the fixture.
Pic 3- Cutting the rear sight notch
Pic 4- Cutting the rear sight groove
Pic 5- Drilled for rear sight holes
Pic 6- Tapped the holes
Pic 7- Fits like it's supposed to!
Pic 8- Mill off the front sight and cut the dovetail. The barrel was underclocked about
one degree. I had to stop and build a frame clamp to pull the barrel so I
could reset the barrel.
Pic 9- Finished!

Hey SPD,
You can add the barrel pins too can't you?

Do you think the pinned barrels are stronger than the unpinned? It just makes more sense they are to me. I kinda felt they cheapened the guns when they went to unpinned.
