I had a 1976 Pinto wagon. Some places (engine mostly) it was metric, others it was SAE. In reverse it would sometimes pop out of gear. I got my first ticket with it - the speedo was inaccurate.

Looking back... I don't miss it one tiny bit.

Don't know why it is but every time I think about the Ford Pinto for some reason I also remember the AMC Pacer.

Isn't the Pinto the car that had a rear mounted fuel tank and had a tendency to catch on fire / blowup if rear ended ?

The Pacer was also known as the Aquarium of vehicles because you were surrounded by glass.
