8 Days of 1911's

I have a 100th Anniversary Colt 1911 that I bought to give to my son some day. He was born in 2011 and I just happened to be in the shop when they set out the only one they got in. It came in wax paper with the field serice manual etc just like the original would have. It's the only gun I own that is unfired. I also own a 1911 that was my dad's first gun. These are probably the most sentimental guns I own, and on top of that they'e both 1911s.

1981 Colt Frame rebuilt with new internals and restored to how it left Colt. Wilson Combat/Marvell 22LR Slide ( also have the Colt slide)

1978 Colt Combat Commander, new Ed Brown barrel and Wilson Combat internals, going to NightHawk for stripping and Nitride refinish

It's a great gun, as it sits. I hate to call this gun a base as if it's not worthy. Hell it's a colt 1911 45! But I can see where you could have some great fun with it.
I've wanted to do a project gun with a 1911. Paint, custom grips, bling the hell out of it and just love to show it.

This is as close to a project as I ever got...Plain Jane Ruger SR1911 with a little bling. This “budget” gun is way more accurate than I’ll ever be. What more could a guy ask for? Well, for starters; a Dan Wesson bobtail, A new Wilson or Ed Brown...but now we’re talking big bucks. I just have to start buying more lottery tickets.
