I want to replace the ball joints (upper and lower) on my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. My Haynes manual is so poorly written that I can't decide which paragraph is talking about which year model car. It seems that on some year models the ball joints are replaceable while on other years, you have to replace the entire control arm. I can do either. I'm pretty handy with tools as long as I know what I'm getting into first. My question is: On the '96, are the lower ball joints replaceable, or do i have to buy the entire control arm? Thanks in advance, fellows.
