Here, but occasionally There.
With regard to the so-called statistics that visa overstays is far more than the numbers for those crossing illegally, keep in mind that those crossing illegally aren't documented. "Juan" and "Maria" aren't filling out cards at the border to inform the CBP of how many in their party are arriving into the U.S. Thus, there is NO documentation of how many are really crossing the border in out of the way places.

The only "true" numbers that the government has regarding migrants, immigrants, and "overstays" are those related to the visas and to those applying for asylum. Those are the ONLY ones coming that are filling out documents for entry.

Well, there's a real good point.
I hadn't considered that.

I support building the wall/barrier/fence/deterring arrangement of materials thingy and I also support fixing all the other illegal immigration issues mentioned above. Even if illegal border crossings are a small hole in the dam filled with large holes, it's still a hole that needs fixed. I don't know what size any of the holes are but if they are a hole....fix em!

No a wall will do nothing. The most popular way to immigrate here is to overstay the work VISA. The least popular way is to walk across. More illegals overstay the VISA than sneak across the border. Put a wall up and make it harder to cross and more will simply use the other 2 popular ways to get in. Period. Its like plugging a dam that has many holes. It will do nothing if you plug the smallest hole.
Nothing.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/08/des...mmigration-is-not-at-the-southern-border.html

Actually Immigration and the Border Patrol says half come across the border along with most of the drugs. Cutting illegal immigration in half along with heavy fines on employers and a updated E-Verify system will do wonders. There will still be some illegals and drugs but not nearly as much and much of the drugs will be made by our own drug rings creating jobs right here in the good old USA. :P :P :P

Seriously sealing the border will also help those of you wanting to legalize pot as it will allow the government better control and more tax dollars from the legally grown pot.

The Democrats are trying to pin anything on Trump-anything in hopes that it will lead to his removal, impeachment or forceable removal from office. They started with one thing and if that doesn't work, they'll go on to another imaginative thing.
  • President Trump’s tax returns
  • Trump family businesses — and whether they comply with the Constitution's emoluments clause, including the Chinese trademark grant to the Trump Organization
  • Trump's dealings with Russia, including the president's preparation for his meeting with Vladimir Putin
  • The payment to Stephanie Clifford — a.k.a. Stormy Daniels
  • James Comey's firing
  • Trump's firing of U.S. attorneys
  • Trump's proposed transgender ban for the military
  • Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin's business dealings
  • White House staff's personal email use
  • Cabinet secretary travel, office expenses, and other misused perks
  • Discussion of classified information at Mar-a-Lago
  • Jared Kushner's ethics law compliance
  • Dismissal of members of the EPA board of scientific counselors
  • The travel ban
  • Family separation policy
  • Hurricane response in Puerto Rico
  • Election security and hacking attempts
  • White House security clearances
And this is only a partial listing.
