One of the loads I’ve been testing is 30 cal, 178 gr ELD-X out of my Rem Mod 7, 300 SAUM @ 2,933 fps. I set 4 one gallon jugs of water in a row and shot them to see what the round would do. After shooting at 100 yds, 3 jugs were completely exploded and the 4th was split in the front with an exiting bullet hole/flap of plastic on the back. The bullet had enough energy to make it through the 4th jug, but just barely. The copper jacket was lying less than a foot behind that last jug. The lead core was in pieces with the biggest pieces remaining inside the 3rd jug.
