The originals are just plain ugly so I wont buy one. This one isn't as ugly. I like the free float the stock still doesn't look like it belongs on the gun. The giant magwell isn't real impressive either. They are moving in the right direction.

Just like the 10/22 they are great shooters, the 9 mm anyway. I picked one up a couple of months ago and have really enjoyed shooting it. The takedown feature is a plus. I am not a fan of plastic stocks but the lines are reminiscent of a M1 Carbine. Perhaps Ruger or someone will come out with a wood. Try it, you'll probably like it.

Here is a comparison:

The mag well was likely designed that large to accommodate the ability to accept both Glock and Ruger mags. I went with Glock for the larger capacity and I don't own any Ruger pistols.
