[QUOTE="retrieverman, post: 3368080, member: 24452"] I lost my best friend, hunting partner, truck buddy a little while ago, and I’m already trying to picture what life without her is going to look like. It’s a very sad picture. She’s been on every Oklahoma trip for the last 12 years. She’s gone to work with me most days, and if the 4 wheeler or Ranger or tractor cranks, she’s been on it. If I hunt in a ground blind, she’s been in it (asleep at my feet within a couple minutes). She’s been doing blood trailing before it was cool (and legal). She’s lived in my house and slept in my bed. I’ve shared my snacks always giving her the last bite. She could smell a jar of peanuts or a candy bar open from a deep sleep and immediately come full awake to get her share. I’ve kept dog beds in passenger front floor boards of all my trucks for her sleeping comfort. When I refer to my family, she’s been commonly known as one of the kids, and now, she’s gone. I’m typing this with memories swirling in my head and tears running down my cheeks, but God is merciful and answered my prayer to take her and not let her suffer. Rest In Peace sweet girl.
