Im at 36.5 as well. But my chrono shows 3250 with 87gr vmax out of a 26". Not sure about sd or es my chrono is now broken.
I'm shooting out of a Rem Model 7 with a 20" barrel that I bought for my son. I was surprised at the accuracy I got with it upon shooting it, then while cleaning it I could see they did a pretty good bedding job on it, which I'm sure made a lot of difference. All I know is the combo has been lethal on deer for three years now.

I'm still working on a real accurate load with H4350 and my 260. I was hoping to find a really good one with the 120gr ballistic tips but haven't hit the sweet spot yet. It does like the 140gr though.

My 30-06 likes H4350 and 155gr sierra Palma bullets. But they like to go really fast.
And terrible on deer as they pencil through.

Id sure like a 260 but just cant make it happen right noe
I got one of these last year and upgraded it bit by bit, pillars, bedding, bottom metal. I love it, and the price was right.

The absolute most fun I have had with the 30-06 was shooting 11.5gr Red dot in rem cases and cast Lee 170gr bullets, gas checked 1400 fps and so quiet you almost do not need ear protection. quieter than a fire cracker.
Very accurate and I have hit 18" X 18"steel at 500 yards with it.
Everyone that shot that load can't get enough. Too much fun.
I bet you could reduce it even more.
It shot 7" right and 7" low compared to my "real" 30-06 load at 100 yards.
So a scope adjustment will be needed.
Think about the 357 mag on deer killing, now think about that 170gr going 1400 fps with excellent accuracy.

I like the 06 but never shoot it anymore. Im too lazy to cast my own bullets and all that. Its just a barrel change from a 6.5-06 and will walk all over a creedmore from what ive seen and that will make me happy when the creedmore guys show up to the range.
