This has not been my experience with AK's. I believe SOME do 2-3 MOA, a few do less, and a large number are 4-5 MOA. I think the issue with AK's, mechanically speaking, is that there is such a variance in manufacturers/builders that getting a quality AK can be a bit of a crap-shoot unless you get one from a known quantity like Krebs Custom or Jim Fuller. I think the odds of getting a 4-5 MOA AK are much greater than for most other carbines available today, primarily because there is no standard in this country like there is for the AR15/M16/M4 family of carbines (which can also be atrocious if the manufacturer does not hold their product to appropriate standards). I've owned a dozen AK variants over the years and only had one that I was satisfied with (a Maadi) in terms of accuracy i.e. 2-3 MOA. If I got an AR15 that would not hold 2 MOA out of the box, I would be shocked. I've only owned one AR that would not hold that standard and that was an acknowledged manufacturer error that was fixed right away. AK's on the other hand rarely come from builders who guarantee their work, shops like Krebs or Fuller excepted. I had an AK that came from Armory USA (one of the supposedly higher end AK's) that came out of the box with a canted sight tower. This is totally unacceptable quality control IMO. All that said, every one of the AK's I've owned has gone bang every time I pulled the trigger except when the ammo was at fault. My take............ Michael Brown
