I-40 is closed in expectation of the barges that broke loose possibly damaging bridge
The last report I saw said they were concerned about the barges getting past the lock and getting to the bridges, but the reports were mixed on whether OHP had actually closed the bridges or was just getting prepared for closing them. According to News 6, they found the barges hung up on some rocks near Spaniard Creek, so the crisis has been averted for now.

They showed an aerial shot of the casino not long ago, and that green to the left of the casino is now under water.
they called our room at 11 and said water was coming into their underground area and everyone had to evacuate by 2

Out here we`re not sure whether to zig or zag....I had 6" of water run through my shop the other night and we were trapped out here for about 24 hours after the 1st round before we could get to 75 and get into town. We`re 9 miles South of the river bridge in Bixby and about 2 miles from Snake Creek but pretty much in the line of last night`s storms. These things used to not bother me much but it`s been kind of butt puckerin` lately!

I`m the blue marker....

I just heard on Channel 25 Fox that the barges have broken free again...

The article on Channel 6’s website about the loose barges has the following quote about Webbers Falls residents who need to evacuate:

If residents do plan to stay, firefighters and police are asking people to write their names on their arms in permanent marker in case they need to be rescued later.

Rescued? More like recovered...

The barges hit the lock & dam. One immediately sank and the other one is pinned against the gates, mostly flipped over and underwater. While I'm sure there's damage, it looks like they hit broadside and distributed the impact across a wider area, saving the gates. Had they hit nose on... :anyone:
