Here, but occasionally There.
This.
What's crazier than it happening and looking intentional is how few people seem to know it's going on besides seeing the consequences.
Shocked every time I mention it to someone and they are oblivious.

Never forget that 50% of people have below average intelligence.

This story goes way back to the 2000 election between Gore and Bush 43. I was helping out in a department of the OSBI where a good number of ladies were working. One of them asked me who I was going to vote for, and I answered that it sure wouldn't be Al Gore. So, she asked why not. So, I told her that Gore was advocating for partial-birth abortion. I don't think any of the ladies had an idea of what a partial-birth abortion involved.

Whatever happened to WVO (waste vegetable oil) conversions for diesels? Feels like there used to be tons of stories about this.

The fuel needs slight modification, not necessarily the engine. Quite a few folks make their own diesel.

Makes driving smell like french fries . 🤷‍♂️

Glad I retired from part time farming. It was a break even business for the most part and I ran equipment that was old and paid for, maintained by me.
Can’t imagine making lease or bank payments for the equipment out there now.
Can’t even work on some of it now from what I understand.

The old non turbo diesel Ford will run on used transmission fluid.
Just filter it really well before using it.

No need to modify it at all.
Friend drove his from Oklahoma to Texas and back and the only
issue was a plugged fuel filter because he just poured the used stuff into the empty fuel tank.

I was hoping to get your insight on this. I knew that you would know where to steer us in the right direction.

WVO is pretty much an enthusiast project, and those sort of enthusiasts would also tend to be attracted to hybrids and electrics. Combine the rise of electrics with VW's "dieselgate" scandal, and you've just drastically cut the enthusiast diesel market, and the WVO market with it. In other words, it's still happening, but there probably aren't as many doing it, so you're not hearing about it as much.
