Another reason to always carry your gun.... Always Carry a Gun: Appalachian Trail Hiker Attacked, Set on Fire July 17, 2012 By Robert Gillock - Web News Editor http://www.fishgame.com/newsblog.php?p=10464 A hiker has been flown back to Alabama after police say two men set him on fire in Gettysburg. The crime is disturbing, two men accused of lighting the man on fire. But police say the community stepped up to help after hearing about the incident. Gettysburg Police say they still dont know who set the man on fire. It happened Thursday around 1 a.m. Police say the man from Alabama was hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was stopping in Gettysburg to get supplies. While walking down Baltimore Street, police say a car of people drove past and called the man homeless. The man responded, then tried to duck into an alley when he saw the car turn around. He says the carload found him on Court Street. Two of the five people in the car jumped out. One threw a cup of liquid on him; the other lit a match, setting the man on fire. The man was rushed to the hospital. He is recovering from second and third degree burns back home in Alabama. Police say they have gotten about 25 phone calls from people who wanted to help the man. Gettysburg Borough paid for a hotel for the man, and community members paid for his flight home. Police say they want to talk to anyone who knows about this and Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward for info. More Here
