The tax rate for the wealthy in NY already runs around 60%. I know the ultra rich and corporations don't pay personal tax, but the businesses and the workers just can't operate under draconian tax levies that the socialist progressives are targeting.
I just can't wrap my head around how anybody thinks that over taxing the very people that give those businesses the incentive to expand and add more jobs is a bad thing.
One just has to look at how our economy is booming and the proof is in the pudding.
Yet these socialist progressives can see that and continue their march to socialism in the opposite direction which in the history of mankind has never been a successful business model. How do people think like that when they are supposed to be educated?

It's simple. They want to be dictators of a communistic socialistic 'democracy.' Successfully flourishing capitalism is as detrimental to their goals as is an armed populace. Their 'thinking' is not in line with common sense, how the world turns, and how they even came to power under the very system that they wish to destroy. They are corrupt, criminal, nefarious despots. (I'd call them maggots, but maggots - as lowly as they seem to be - have an important pertinent role in the circle of life.)

As for their 'education', well, just take a gander at the vast majority of our institutions of supposedly higher learning and it'll be clear as to how they think.

I'm not sure, but I think they are building another Amazon "fullfillment center" in OKC. There is some really big building being built off of I-44 down around SW 89th or SW 104th.

I saw that big bldg. today, I would like to know also. Went to the new Fed Ex bldg. on Portland also.

Here, but occasionally There.
That is indeed the OKC Amazon fulfillment center, sure looks large enough to add enough staff to be that second headquarters. I'm looking forward to seeing what else builds up in that area.

According to dlmcm (see above), it is indeed the new Amazon fulfillment center. However, that building is not the totality of Amazon in Oklahoma City. There is another on South Council Road.

Amazon is building an Fulfillment center in Tulsa also, 46th street north and east of HW 169. Was by there about a week ago, huge building shell is pretty much complete. Good for Tulsa economy also.

Amazon nixes deal to bring HQ, 25K jobs to Big Apple after hostile reception from left
Amazon announced Thursday it was turning back on its plans to build its second headquarters in New York City, a company spokesman said in a statement. The move comes after pressure from lawmakers, notably Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who bemoaned the project.

"After much thought and deliberation, we’ve decided not to move forward with our plans to build a headquarters for Amazon in Long Island City, Queens," the Seattle-based Amazon said in the release.

"For Amazon, the commitment to build a new headquarters requires positive, collaborative relationships with state and local elected officials who will be supportive over the long-term. While polls show that 70% of New Yorkers support our plans and investment, a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City," the statement reads.

The company added that it is "disappointed to have reached this conclusion."

"We are deeply grateful to Governor Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio, and their staffs, who so enthusiastically and graciously invited us to build in New York City and supported us during the process," the company continued in the statement.

Amazon said it would proceed as planned with the second part of its HQ2, which will be built in Northern Virginia, as well as its distribution center that it said it would open in Nashville. It will also continue to "hire and grow across our 17 corporate offices and tech hubs in the U.S. and Canada."

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had previously touted the deal's benefits, which include a pledge from Amazon to create 25,000 jobs, paying an average of $150,000 per year in exchange for a slew of city and state tax breaks and subsidies worth up to $3 billion.

This is a breaking news story. Check back for updates.

The building at SW 104th and Portland is an Amazon Fulfillment Center. Walk-in purchasing is an idea Amazon is tinkering with but they just haven't figured out their ideal way to do it. They want to do something different "cutting edge" than just walking up to a counter and getting your items.

The building at SW15th and Council is an Amazon Warehouse.

Rumor has it Oklahoma City (including the suburbs) is now being considered as a possible location for the new Amazon HQ now that NYC is out.
