Some people will have a cow over this but I put a 60 grit flap grinding wheel on my grinder and got the pits out and the blueing off. Had some serious pits under the furniture and I was trying to sand down by hand and finally had an epiphany and went to the grinder. Got all the pits out except for a dot or two on the barrel and almost have the action done. When finished, I will sand with 100/120/150/200 and 0000 to get her baby but shiny and smooth. Had planned on blueing but may go a different way because the shiny metal looks so cool. Might clear coat bluing if I can find one that won't turn yellow. Heck I don't know. That's what happens when your not that bright (Me ha). Love the process of doing this. Regardless of how it turns out. I'll shoot it and hang it with my Mosin on the wall of my reloading room. Some collectors will have a fit about what I'm doing, but there's no shortage of Turkish Mausers and this one needed some work to protect it. Plus....I own it. Ha. Pictures were taken during a break. Almost ready to start hand sanding but still a couple of pits need addressed first.
