You can bet it is all set up and I know that if I were going to pull something like that, I would plan ahead to make sure it was safe. Very low powered fireworks, which those looked and sounded to be, etc.

One of those things dang near blinded my aunt in one eye,,,
She was sitting next to my uncle when the cigar that my Pop loaded went off,,,
You could order stuff from the back of a comic book that could maim people.
My favorite was that "car bomb" thing,,,
You put it in-line with the main ignition cable out of the distributor,,,
Start the engine and this thing went off with a lot of smoke and a shrieking whistle.
Lots of cars went up in flames due to those things.
I tell ya, growing up in the 1950's was exciting!
