The ACLU said along time ago that they would essentially use the Constitution to destroy the Constitution.

Saul Alinsky says in his book to use the hold the enemy to their own standards as well.

Actually, I think that's great advice. Trump had a habit of doing that, especially with reporters. I love to play that game with leftists. Invariably they get frustrated, have a melt down, start name-calling and walk away.

Everyone should be able to say whatever stupid crap they want to say.

One problem with it though is in the new tech dominated media, where it's say anything you want, but if we don't agree with it, it will be effectively buried.

Pretty much. But it beats the alternative of being persecuted for your beliefs. The problem is not our system of government. The problem, as usual, are the people entrusted to operate and manage the system/government.

I'm telling you... This is not a road we want to go down because it will never stop where we think it will.

As far as I’m concerned anyone can say whatever they want about any dang thing. It’s quite useful actually. The problem is ideas, become words, words become deeds and deeds unbridled by reason or morals become atrocities. I’ve never felt that heterosexuals need to have parades and display explicit behavior to establish parameters around their identities. Not to say there isn’t a segment of that population that’s off the reservation of acceptable.

Isolation and a sense of inferiority or oppression seem to be the catalyst for outrageous self destructive behavior. Mental health is a significant issue. When a society is forced to address manifested antisocial behaviors then individual liberties have to be subordinate to a higher ideal. That’s as close to collectivism as I am willing approach. It can’t be done without a larger rubric of a Republican concept or the potential for tyranny is magnified. It’s a very fine line between Liberty and Responsibility.

Agree. I'm just saying that the majority of tech media clearly squelches the non-woke, non-socialist side. So, while the mantra is free speech, the conservative side is already being clamped pretty aggressively. Maybe not legislatively yet, but functionally, by the technology and the masters of it.

The failure in thinking is believing the Constitution applies to some US citizens but not others because of how they think and what they believe. No one here is arguing these people and their ideals aren't a problem. The argument is simply that until they cross a line into prohibited speech or action they're free to say what they believe and peacefully protest for what they believe. Notice I said 'peacefully'. We all know many antifa idiots don't limit their actions to acceptable speech and behavior...and they should be held accountable for that. But, again, that's not the point.
ANTIFA, stands for anti-Nazi, but their tactics of, intimidation, quieting any point of view but theirs, promoting fear, to speak out against them, etc. WITH THE FULL COOPERATION OF ALL THE NEWS MEDIA, are straight out of the Nazi Brown Shirts, play book! DO YOU DARE WEAR YOLUR TRUMP BALL CAP IN PUBLIC, HAVE A TRUMP BUMPER STICKER, CAMPAGN SIGN, OR FLAG IN YOUR YARD? I HAVE BEEN THREATED, SPIT ON, HAD SIGNS STOLEN, AND DENIED A HOTEL ROOM, LATELY FOR EXRISIZING MY RIGHT TO SUPPORT WHOM EVER I CHOOSE TO SUPPORT!! IF THAT IS NOT NAZI TYPE INTIMIDATION, WHAT IS IT? We have a trip planned to Hawaii soon, for our 56th wedding anniversary! My wife don't think I shoiuld wear my Trump Ball cap, on this trip, what do you think?

Don't be shy...if you think I'm a liberal for believing in the ideals of the founders, speak up. No need to be passive aggressive...

What doesn't surprise me is how many on this forum piss and moan about some sort of Constitutional slight, whether real or imagined, by the gov't or an agent of the gov't (LE, for example) but turn right around and call for taking fundamental rights away from others.
I’m not shy at all !!
And I have no clue whether you’re liberal or not ,and I could care less . But it looks like I struck a nerve with you with my simple sentence

LOL... Don't flatter yourself, dude. I don't give a rat's ass what anyone on some mostly anonymous internet forum thinks of me. That should be obvious. So if you have something to say, just say it and don't beat around the bush.

Now...I will say this. if you think I'm a liberal you obviously: 1) don't know what that word means, and 2) haven't been paying attention to what I'm saying.

I wouldnt. Sure, you'll probably see some other guys there in their red hats but you already said you've been spat on, denied a hotel room, etc. Hawaiian trips are expensive, and it's a blue state. You're in hostile territory. Advertising it can end up being expensive and possibly dangerous to you and your wife, so I'd be low-key and try to enjoy it! You're there for your anniversary, after all. And congrats on 56 years!
