Went out again, and I think I found a trash/outhouse pit with glass and miscellaneous stuff. Nothing of any real value, but just interesting. When I dig I try to put myself into their "shoes" and think what it was like back then. I'm a History channel junky BTW.

I can relate a story about tipping over an outhouse.....

    .....with an occupant inside.

I need to get off my duff and get out there. Loaned mine out to find another dropped/lost piece of jewelry. It was a small diamond earring. It found it. So far that’s all it’s been used for.

Anyone want to get into this hobby, I am selling my Whites MXT. Buying a new detector, this one will definitely get you started. I can post price here or list in classifieds

I used to a few years ago. Got kind of bored with it when I kept finding pull tabs. I did find a couple bucks in change at tiawah school playground.

God's cruel joke is gold rings and pull tabs sound like and show the same VDI numbers. Once I learned that, I dug every pulltab signal and out of the thousands I have found 4 gold rings.

Excellent talk last night at the Central Montana Metal Detectors Club meeting on using the Sanborn Perris Maps to locate old properties and places hunt.

I metal detect all the time; have for years. If any of you have lost a ring, other piece of jewelry, or other metal item that you need to have found, I'm happy to help find it -- no charge, of course. All I ever accept as "payment" is permission to detect at any old property you might permit me access to (I'm primarily an old coin hunter)!

If you have anything you need found, OR, if you have an old home or home site that you wouldn't mind permitting me access to detect on, to search for a few old coins, I'd be more than grateful!

    Thanks!

    Steve (Norman, OK)
