Any recommendations on a Shortwave radio?

Don't think as much traffic as the old ones, but good. I used to drive golf carts for RCWA years ago when we kept them running the whole show. While on "duty", any one walking out, particularly with something they purchased, was offered a ride. Then I swept the parking lot for anyone who might like a ride in as I was going in for more. Met a lot of interesting people from many places and many states. </p><p></p><p>It might be interesting if we OSAers that are hams could connect some way to know who is who in ham radio also. Yep, throwing out our call sign reveals all of our personal identity to everyone, but we seems could make it a floating PM some way if we wanted to send our call sign to only connect with known call signs of others that have a license or something like that for interested individuals to build a contact list. Whatcha think? </p><p></p><p>Me, I am pretty open, I am the guy who most always has a cigar hanging out at the MCARC or sometimes RCWA tables. I have been known in the past sitting in my house with my .45 I holstered that morning for opening up the door and being the firestarter for the 11PM "Knights of the Roundtable" that went on nightly for over 3 years when I could stay up that late. If you do not like bacon, you were not part of us. You ever been to a RCWA "Burger Burn" I have retired, but I might have cooked your burger in years past. Ha ha</p><p></p><p>Hamfest is kinda a convolution. Churches who can decide carry is OK all the time, but if used for voting is restricted from carry during that voting time. How about a municipal building where carry is prohibited that is leased out to a private organization for an event that their Organizers do not restrict carry for that time? Does that become void? Humm</p><p></p><p>I used to know some of the local Claremore PD that knew I always carried from other functions that were legal, but I did not see any of them I recognized present after the time laps.</p><p></p><p>If interested in a Ham sub group from OSA, we could just meet on the air and chew the fat about shooting. I have total access and control of 147.06 + 88.5 or 444.675 if we might want to set up a "2A firearms ragchew net" for the Tulsa area at a particular day and time for 2A enthusiast. OSA members and others who might want to join us. We just have to get together and decide a time slot.</p><p></p><p>PM me with your opinions if interested.</p></blockquote><p></p>
