Dated the Savage to 1950 and the Remington is a 1949.

The Remington is fully functional with the only mechanical issue being that the inner magazine tube is very difficult to take out and reinsert.

The Savage wouldn't feed at first. I found the lifter was assembled incorrectly and was missing 1 bushing piece. After replacing the bushing and reassembling it correctly it feeds most of the time. I think a deep cleaning will make it more reliable. The gunk is old and like a rock. It's going to take a lot of work to get it cleaned out.

Not every day you get not 1 but 2 functional rifles for $100.

@Catt57 have you ever heard of the word " hoarding"?:mosh::cool: Nice find !! :clap3:

This makes 7 of the model 6A variants that I have now. Of course the best 3 are already set back and promised to my kids when they are old enough to responsible with them.

Now to find a model 3 and a model 7.

And this Remington looks like it might be fun to shoot. :fullauto:

Got two new pistols last week. A Kimber Pro Carry II and a Sig Sauer P220. After shooting both I have to say the Sig wins hands down......Love that DAK trigger...
