The Colt seems very ammo sensitive much like my Walther P22 was which choked on everything but CCI Stingers and Mini-mags until I fired about 500 rounds through it, now the P22 is much more tolerant of bulk ammo, perhaps the M4 OPS will work out the same. I have fired about 500 rounds through the M4 OPS once I figured out what ammo it likes. Federal Automatch worked well in both rifles, the regular 525 or 550 bulk Federal was not as reliable. I have 450 rounds through the MP15-22. So, for my opinion for what it is worth, I much prefer the S&W over the Colt for cost, fun factor, ease of cleaning and reliability. The Colt has small springs much like the Walther G22 rifle does, and won't field strip down as far as the S&W will. I did have one issue with the S&W where I experienced a failure to feed (possibly due to my error in trying to load a magazine too fast and had a round nose down). The extractor came out of the bolt along with it's spring and plunger. Fortunately I found all the parts and put them back in, I had the plunger in with the wrong side facing out and I had failures to extract as the extractor was not gripping the cases right. I corrected that, and had no further problems. I hope to shoot more soon and report any issues.
