[QUOTE="swampratt, post: 2937480, member: 15054"] I made my first wine when I was 15. I am 3 times as old now and that first mason jar was the best. I have made it from banana's from grapes , sand plum, pears, blueberries, and a strawberry kiwi drink from Aldies. I currently have strawberry kiwi and grape. I just use fleischmans yeast and sugar. My first ever was just grapes going bad..I mashed them up and put some sugar in the mason jar and sealed it . I put vaseline on the ring threads so i could get it back off later. I then covered the entire mason jar with foil and dug a 3 foot post hole. Placed the jar at the bottom.. put a little dirt over it and then I placed a rock over that and filled the hole back up with dirt. this was in Moore ok. I dug the jar up 3 months later. I opened it and it was very good stout wine. Drank it with a girl.. we got a buzz and that is about it. I tried some wine yeast but it left the wine with a much more yeasty finish than the Fleischmans. My wife does not like my wine..said it is like fruit juice with vodka in it. Yea ,, good stuff.
