Oh I agree, but being an owner doesn't make one an expert. I can probably tell you more about DW than most. The ironic thing is that back when this was made, DW was going through all sorts of problems due to proprietary issues. Why don't you PM Dr Greyson about goofy proprietary sights and Chocobo about how his DW commander was out of spec? Now those things have been cleared up due to a change in ownership but DW only recently came to be a quality 1911 company, thanks to CZ. :D Either way, take it from someone that stopped playing with 1911 production guns a long time ago and realizes the difference between a $3K custom and a Dan Wesson. Due to onwership. When you graduate to a level where you understand the little things a handcrafted 1911 offers over a factory gun then we'll talk. :D DWs are great guns and I like the new ones, but they have long surpassed their percieved value as they go for as much as a Les Baer or even a used Brown, Wilson, NH. Baer and the others being a significant step up. If someone HAS to have a DW though, 2nd hand rose did have a Heritage for less than $1K a couple of weeks ago. Which is a good deal relative to lets say a Kimber.....and they had a Valor for $1700?
