Some of these guys are sharing the anecdotes but not much info. The Ridgeline is a unibody cousin of the Accord, but that doesn't mean it won't work for what you are needing. Also, AWD systems can vary and not all work like a open differential (that is, move power to the slipping wheel); I believe the Ridgeline has a locking feature in the center differential (like a LandCruiser or a Select-Trac Jeep) so that the drive shafts turn at the same rate, thus functioning like a regular 4x transfer case. There are people that take these and wheel 'em on all kind of trails: www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/44004-Ridgeline-as-ExPo-vehicle? www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/51499-My-Ridgeline-Expo-hauler-build http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f3B3B_Ls3Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUwnZjy4Ps0&feature=fvwrel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0yr1OA74Os&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNQbTg1QX-c&feature=related Hell, you get anywhere outside the US, and people are taking old Toyota and Datsun sedans and beating on them like a travelling business man does a Thai hooker (to borrow RidgeHunter's expression).
