I have had this thing for over 35 years but i haven't seen another like it, it's only about 3 inches long there are no markings on it anywhere other than some advertising printing on the other side that is faded away.

I used to have one of those, can't remember where or why I got it though. You flip up that cover and slide the blade down in.
They used to be pretty common back in the 70's and early 80's as promotional items. They're compact, lightweight and disappear in the pocket. For cutting box tape tape, twine or cleaning fingernails, they work well. Yours has obviously seen a lot of use! LOL

I have had my quota of those also. Handy little things, and oh so easy to lose.
Just about every oilfield company in the Hennessey area had these advertising knives to give away, I probably had six or seven of them back in the day
I second this... I can remember having one..... Zero idea how I came by it..
Seems like I got my first one at Sears.
I think I still have one of those - seems like it came from a pipe/valve supply house. Freebie handed out by salesmen.
