Got to spend the day with my sister and my niece. Dragged out a few AR’s and some pistols. My sis had never shot an AR before today, so I got the chance to teach her a few things and she was a natural!
Put her Ruger LCP through its paces and she feels much more comfortable with the mechanics after today.
Does it get any better than spending time with loved ones and shooting a bunch of guns?
Wish I grabbed some pictures, but we were having too much fun!

I just got back taking a neighbor kid with me, he had a great time. 1st time he shot a AR15 and he loved it, then got him on one that shot 40SW, then I drug out a 45 colt lever action. After it was all said and done I asked him which did he like best, he said the 45 colt, it was a fun time and he knows how to be safe at the range, makes it fun for both of us.

That’s good stuff man! I’m sure he had a blast, and it sounds like he’s got good taste in guns! Can’t beat an old lever gun.

Great job getting them out to the range and experiencing some new platforms!
I took my wife and a friend of hers that both just got their CC permits to the range. Neither has shot anything but the pistols they qualified with.
So we focused on those guns for an hour or so on falling steel so they could get a reaction of a hit.
Both my wife and her friend have been exposed to the liberal anti gun media and the evils of the black gun, because it's only made to kill people.
So, we went around to the rifle bay and the wife's friend just objected to even shooting one of them like it was going to infect her brain or something.
After she finally shot it, and hit some of the steel at 100 yards, there was a definite change in attitude. She thinks it was a fun gun to shoot, but still is on the media side of the evil black gun.
She has moved away to another job, so we did our part, and it looks like you did your part as well with your sister and niece with different results.

Ya can’t win em all, brother! Kudos to you for at least being able to get her behind the gun.
We did much of the same with the LCP. She got her permit and hasn’t shot hardly at all. I just wanted her to get comfortable with loading magazines, manipulating the slide, and figuring out the trigger.
Hell, I had more fun spending time with her and seeing her get better than I did actually shooting my own guns.

I rarely shoot when with someone that is new. Just try to let them enjoy the time and help with grip mainly. Once they get the grip right, it's easy to see them become more accurate. The old t-cup grip normally seen in older TV program cop shows rears its ugly head pretty regular among the older ladies and guys.

lol That's actually how my dad taught me to shoot a pistol, of course this was back in the early 80's and that's how he was taught.

And I'm going today to do some more break in on my Taurus plus a few other firearms.

I checked the zero on my scope yesterday so I could go out this morning to get the armadillos that are wrecking our yard. I walked the whole place twice but they weren’t out. I did find a fox but wasn’t the first to find it. [IMG]

Depending on the weather, my wife and I might do some shooting.
