Would'nt be afraid of grabbing any AR15 I own except the odd calibers.
Urban, wooded or Rural, mountainous open terrain, how far are most of the shots??
Urban, wooded - Gotta go with old reliable AK47. I know not a AR!
Rural, mountainous, open terrain - Rock River Arms A4 18in barrel.
If I can only take one for a SHTF scenario gotta be the AK47. Sorry, you can abuse it but its gonna continue to function.

@L.C. In my opinion that's the best configuration ever for an AR. Light, easy to carry, easy to maneuver.

You guys may laugh, but I'd seriously consider my Ruger PCC --- 9mm, Glock mags. Bet there's a lot more 9mm out there than 223/5.56. And being in an urban environment, range isn't as much of a concern.

Don't hate on me too much......

I agree I have a Sig MPX in 9mm.
