I am kicking the idea around of switching my ar over to a 6.5 creedmoor, what do i need and what would it cost to switch it over?
is it something that is a PIA to do, or something you can switch it back and forth fairly easy if you wanted too?

Assuming you want to stay with a AR15 like rifle, you will have to buy a complete different rifle. 6.5 CM doesn't fit in the AR15, you need a AR10

As for cost, that depends on how you want to go about it. Whats the 6.5CM intended use for ect.

I was thinking it was a bolt, and barrel change?
I like the size of ammo of the 6.5 and a little more knock down power, as i bought the gun originally for my daughter to use for deer hunting, and .223 works, but as she is growing i figure time to up it to but a bigger caliber and would be more suitable. Plus, i wouldnt mind using it my self as a deer rifle.

Nope, the 6.5 Creedmore is a long action cartridge requiring the AR 10 platform.
You might look at the 6.5 Grendel as it’s far superior to the .223 and there is factory ammo readily available.

You will need to move to a 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC if you want to keep it in the AR-15 platform. Like Dennis and ec508pir said, the 6.5 Creedmore will not fit in an AR-15 platform. The AR-10 will support it.

Both the 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 SPC should fill your goal. The 6.5 performs a bit better, the 6.8 is cheaper to shoot.

Great idea, i think i was actually looking at the grendel, and not the creedmoor. I dont know why creedmoor was the word that came out :)
Now let me start this over, to make the conversion to a grendel, what would it take?

I would build or buy a complete 6.5 Grendel upper to just swap out.
The BCG is the same but you need a different bolt , barrel, and possibly some tinkering with the buffer or spring. Adjustable gas block would help with the tuning.

6.8 SPC is cheaper than $5.95 a box? Cuz that's what I give for Wolf 6.5 Grendel ammo.

All you need is a barrel, bolt, and mags. Make sure you get a matching (both type 1 or type 2) barrel and bolt - I recommend type 2. If you already have an upper that you want to convert, you may wanna over the the 6.5 Grendel forum and check out their group buys on barrels and bolts.

Honestly, I didn't consider steel cased ammo.
A quick check at SGammo show American Eagle or Remington UMC can be found for .60-.70 a round for a 6.8 SPC. You are looking .97-1.05 for a 6.5 Grendel. Prvi Partizan .60 vs .75 (20rd boxes) I feel that is pretty much comparing apples vs apples.
