shhhhh dont tell the BATF lol
OK, so here is my understanding of the SIG brace thing.
The part is GTG as long as it is being used as designed, which is the super ghey, strap it to your fore arm and imitate a cyborg way.
If it is used in another manner; such as a shoulder thingy that goes up, then it is not legal.
If you don't get the references, do some research before jumping in. Pretty please.
Does anyone else read it that way?
I would have to agree that it sure is weird(ghey) looking device. About as cool as those slide fire stock things. And yes thats how I read it.
Sig Brace - Super Ghey, that about sums it up..
There is an ATF technical opinion letter from earlier this year that states that using the brace in a manner other than as intended did not change the pistol into an illegal SBR. Whether or not a local LEO has the same opinion is another story. Too lazy to look it up at the moment but it's out there.
Well that settles that, thanks for the info.
No problemo! Still super ghey.
You know what else is ghey? Paying the government $200 to exercise your constitutional rights.
Is there a reg that tells us how to hold our pistols while shooting?
ETA: Note to self. Read the thread. But the sarcasm was good.
