Unless you have a monolithic rail (being different than a railed hand guard)...but I still like to keep mine on the main.

Proper eye relief.

Unless you have a monolithic rail system there isn't enough real estate to employ standard rings and still mount the optic far enough forward.

I guess it depends on the eye relieve of the scope and your head position. I've never ran out of room on any of mine.

Yeah, if you like the scope projecting past the receiver and over the extension I guess it'd work ok. You either need a short eye relief or have your head far back on the stock.

This is with a cantilever. Scope is about even with back of rail. A regular mount would have it a few inches farther back:

With my two now there is enough room for the rear of the scopes to set flush with the rear of the charging handle. Each person is different concerning head position.

Can't recommend these Aero mounts enough. They look awesome and are. super light weight. Not QD, but I have zero use for that and it's just adds cost

Warne mounts on both of them and a Leupold VX I in 3-9X40 on one and a Vortex Diamondback 4-12X44 or whatever the objective is on those.

Nice. Which model Warne? Are they lightweight? Looking for my next mount if I stick with this LVPO.
