AR15 in Wood

Pistol grip I made yesterday and I tweaked a bit more on it today .

If I had a mill I would be dangerous.
$39 bench top drill press with a broken drill bit did most of the slot.
Some of it was sandpaper on a rusty dull flat file.

I've seen worse. Heck, I've done worse! Nice job. I've always considered myself more a wood butcher. I may have to try it again. I have more than one mill, and even some training on using it, now. Last time I tried something like that was maybe 1975. I must have learned a bit more by now. If I do butcher it, I can put a potbellied stove in the shed and hide the evidence.

I too love the look and feel of real wood. Wonder what the forestock will do if the barrel gets REALLY hot, as in after 2-3 fast mag dumps? We know we should not do that from the standpoint of barrel longivity. I've seen others do it to mag fed semi-auto's to the point of the oil burning smoking and the forestock getting too hot to hold.
