One of the most talented receiver corps in the country, and a quarterback--or, is it a system--that cannot seem to get the ball to those receivers at critical moments in must-win games. Another way-too-close game, another big early lead blown.... OU's luck will run out before it meets a really good football team like Ohio State, but perhaps that is for the best. They are not a playoff caliber team.

Its been a long time since OU fans could say this, but OU's defense won them that game. And now we see why Hurts was benched. Two turnovers almost at the goal line, one INT (returned for a TD) and a fumble. If any other RB had fumbled as much as Hurts has they would have been benched.

The only silver lining is the defense is actually playing this year.

That pick 6 wasn't entirely Hurts's fault--Lamb slipped on his cut. It wasn't much, but it was enough for him to not be where he was supposed to be when the ball got there. In the post-game show, Riley took part of the blame, too, saying his play didn't give Hurts the best chance for success (or something to that effect).

The defense actually played fairly well, only giving up 17 points and 204yds of total offense, not to mention coming up with that INT when they needed a stop. If the offense could just hold onto the dang ball...

Just got home from the game. The first quarter was a thing of beauty. The rest, not so much. Hurts should be dropped from consideration for the Heisman in my opinion.

On that 4th and 1, Riley screwed up the call. I honestly don't know what he was thinking. I was even wondering if they ran the right play. He called a time out, and during that he cooked up and called a handoff to a running back that was to run unblocked? As in no blockers? With the defensive line stacked? WTPF? He had both big backs in there and had Jalen hand it off to the first one. :faint:

And if that weren't enough he just kept calling the same damn running play like they weren't going to be ready. They got a damned generous spot on that last possession and squeaked it out by the skin on their teeth.

Hurts with 3 turnovers in each of the last two games have been costly. Thank goodness the defense has been able to get an int at the end of each game to seal it.
