Report Shows Problems With M17, M18 Pistols
Posted at 10:00 am on January 31, 2018 by Tom Knighton

..."The Pentagon recently released a report that shows testing of the M17 and M18 handguns exposed a number of significant and persistent deficiencies, including firing accidentally if a shooter dropped the gun, ejecting live ammunition, and low reliability with traditional “ball” cartridges with bullets enclosed inside a full metal jacket."...

READ the actual Trial.

They fixed the Drop issue.

2 guns out of the trial did exhibit the splintering.

Note...

The meaning of MRBF
The meaning of MRBS

The "stoppages" amounted to a vast majority of FLSR which was predominately the problem from their claims. 8 out of 132 individuals were responsible for 60% of the issues with slide lock.

In one test the P320 XM17 exhibited 38,xxx MRBF and 9,xxx in another one.

I see from JD8's link that Winchester ammo was used. Winchester ammo is being dropped like hot rocks by LE agencies all over because of QC problems. I wonder if this has spilled over into .gov contracts and contributed to the problems?

I noticed this as well.... I'll say this... I've shot THOUSANDS of rounds of Winchester dirty box over the years. Had two 100rd boxes left and these boxes gave me fits in my H&K VP9sk and my CZ P10c when I took both to the range recently. Federal, some friends reloads, speer, and fiochi all with no problems.
