I had that with a broken collarbone. Took a plate and screws for it to heal.

Update:

Talked with doctor a while ago and was told that the surgery went well with reattaching the back rib with titanium and putting a mesh "screen" to block a part of the lung that was hemoraging through the gap.

Talked with a nurse that said he was responding well and dealing with manageable pain . We will get to see him in about 20 minutes

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers. Now to continue praying for a good recovery for Eric and for CHenry.
