If I start with, say (for example) $200 in my wallet, and my wife spends $100, then in the real world (despite whatever she says about "saving" any amount) I actually have only $100 left. If she had not spent any money, then I would still have $200. Wifey never seemed to understand that concept, although my daughters luckily did pick up on that while they were still teens. Oh well, 2 out of 3 (0.667) isn't a bad batting average I guess.
