Is there a good shotgun smiff in the okc area? Friend needs to get one ejecting properly . It is under gased when shooting 2.75 shells.

1100 or 11/87 by chance? Replace the gas o-ring or look at the ports that are under the barrel band that goes around the magazine.

Get a gas ring from a local shop or eBay. Will probably fix it right up.
This is where I’d start. Cheap fix.

If it is a three inch chamber then the barrel will have only one port. 3 inch 1100s will not function with light shells. 2 3/4 inch 3 3/4 dram shells usually function. Anything lighter will not. Make sure the gas hole in the barrel is clear and the magazine tube doesn't have a powder build that binds the action.

He bought all 3 of those parts on Ebay @dlbleak . Hopefully that fixes him up.
@Farmer925 he had it all apart over the weekend and cleaned everything so hopefully the parts will get him going.

1100’s also get a buildup of powder residue on the mag follower. It’s probably plastic. Make sure that is all clean and freely moves. An aluminum follower helped my 11/87’s.

There is a good 4 part video by Brownells on 1100 1187 maintenance.
You never stated which shell you define as light loads, or when problem occurred? 1100/1187 rely on gas pressure to cycle. If its clean and no sealing issues. May be a shell it just dose not like.
