[Uncle Meat]

Yesterday afternoon, I looked up and saw a B-52 flying over east Broken Arrow.
Saw it but never heard it.

This is the first I've ever seen in the air.
Direction was south east.

Is this normal for this area?

It’s possible it was going to Barksdale in Louisiana or maybe to Tinker for a tune up.

They fly those into Tinker?

saw a bunch of black painted ones at Kadena during the mid 60's. saw the glint off polished alluminum very high up as 2 of them were turning into their bomb runs to try and knock out NVA arty positions along the DMZ, they pulvarized a large chunk of the planet that ended up as a large dirt cloud

I see several approach paths Into tinker from my property. Yes, they have bufs in and out. Prob for engine maintenance. Just 20min ago I saw two stealth fighters in tight formation heading towards Luther.
Every time I see a fighter or bomber in the air I say “God bless America”.

Most of you know B-52s are periodically refurbished at USAF maintenance depots like Tinker AFB . Even while the Air Force works on a new bomber, it intends to keep the B-52H in service until 2045, nearly 90 years after the B-52 first entered service, an unprecedented length of service for any aircraft, civilian or military.
