40 years ago I gifted a 30-40 rifle to my sister's son,,,
It was supposedly my deceased father's deer rifle.
The original front sight was missing,,,
Someone had "daubed" some sort of brass monstrosity onto the barrel.
Surprisingly enough it was zeroed for 50 yards,,,
I remember hitting coke bottles with it.
Anyways, long story short,,,
My nephew took the rifle home and put it in his closet,,,
This past Christmas he told me that it was still in the same place as 40 years ago.
He never even took it out of the case.
I'm negotiating now to get it back from him,,,
And thinking that I might have the entire barrel replaced.
I have no idea what that would cost,,,
Can anyone here give me a ball park guesstimate on this?
I know a firm cost could vary quite a bit,,,
I'm just needing a rough dollar figure to think about.
