One can move a really heavy object with little power on water. Don't understand why the two Sherriff boats do not try to push the barges off the side and head them for a sand bar. Not much too lose but maybe allot to gain.

Do we know that the barges aren't pushed against the face of the dam below the water line? I hear several saying the barges were crumpled to bits, but I only saw for certain the light weight roofing was crumpled to bits. I hope the damage isn't occurring in time as the diverted water maybe undercutting the dam.

That would be like lassoing a Bison, once you had him roped, you could make him go anywhere he wants to go.
