Just a thought...what about a couple of quick coats of brake light tint. The stuff in spray cans. After you are done you can just peel it off but should dull it up to take the glare off.

Get some Vetrap bandage tape from Tractor Supply, Atwood's, etc. Vetrap is light, can be stretched, formed, and it sticks to itself but doesn't leave a sticky residue when you remove it. Plus it's only a few bucks and comes in a variety of colors, including black and camo. I've used it along with some pipe insulation to make an improvised cheek rest/riser for my daughters when they use my rifles.

Never thought of that! Does the bandage tape not want to adhere to the barrel as a result of heat from firing, or have you used it in that manner?
